World's Coolest Police Cars

As criminals opt to steal more and more expensive cars that are capable of higher and higher speeds, and normal idiots think they are invincible, Police Forces around the world are opting for faster, more powerful cars all the time. Here is a list of some of my favourites!

_______________

 Austria

Porsche 911
One of the most famous sports cars in the world. Dont need to say much, other than its a 911. Its history speaks for itself. Even though it looks like a frog. I included Austria's 911, but Germany has them, too. No surprise!

_______________

 Australia

Holden VE Commodore
Holden make tuned cars, which end up on the roads in Britain as popular Vauxall badged street bruisers, as well as forming the underpinnings for the much improved range of muscle cars from GM (Imagine! The Americans having to get the Aussies to make the sophisticated stuff for them!)

_______________

 Canada

Jaguar S Type
This has to be one of the oddest Police cars around. Its a Jag. Has pedigree. Drives well, has a decent turn of speed, plenty of space, a very good Police car. But really does look like a car your granddad would drive!

_______________

 Germany

Brabus CLS 12
This car is a big old Merc. Which Brabus has taken, and handed to the crazy people in a hole somewhere where there is no sunlight. The end result is a car that could actually replace Italy's Lambo as the fastest Police car in the world. This is on order and will be used on the fastest stretches of the Autobahn, where its reported top speed of 225mph will be of potential use! Whether the Police get a chance to use it in anger is another question! Knowing how fast the thing is, its unlikely the idiots will actually attempt to take it on!

_______________

 Italy

Lambourgini Gallardo
Lets face it, we are all jealous of the Italian Police! Not only is this the fastest (until the Brabus gets delivered!), but it is by far the sexiest! And it is not for show. This is a real Police car, with bits in there for guns, radio scanners, and my own personal favourite. A separate freezer compartment to allow them to transport organs to hospitals!

Smart
The Smart wont really strike fear like the Lambo will. However, they have obviously learnt their lessons after being spanked by Michael Caine with his fleet of Mini's haring through Rome's narrow streets.

_______________

 Japan

Nissan Skyline
Nissan have since finished the Skyline. But that does not stop me from including this. Japan limits the speed of the cars on its roads. This is not limited. So, just dont try it. The Skyline was basically Japan's only supercar, and made the Impreza's and Lancer's of this world look like toy cars!

_______________

 Russia

Porsche Cayenne
Whilst in Britain the Cayenne is derided as a car for the Cheshire set, and a playtoy for footballers, this car does have its uses. Yes, it is plug-ugly, but it is surprisingly fast. It has reasonable off-road capabilities, and has found a home on the streets of Moscow!

_______________

 United States

Carbon Motors E7
This is currently a prototype, but has a good chance of going into production. A car design for the Police specifically, rather than being a stock car retrofitted for the service. This thing features integrated shotgun mounts, reinforced body for high speed crashes, integrated emergency lights, and a hoseable back seat! The only thing this needs is mini-missiles to pop out from the grille at the front! And I am sure they are working on that...

Dodge Magnum
A beefed up Dodge that looks more than capable of ramming (ha!) the bad guys, and eating them for lunch.

Dodge Charger
And Dodge's latest addition. A much beefed, and tweaked Charger that has become a pursuit vehicle!

Ford Mustang (Saleen)
The Mustang is one of the best looking cars on the road. It is totally no nonsense, and does what it says on the box. And this is just the same. A mean looking Police car. I want one.

_______________

 United Kingdom

Jaguar XF
Jaguars new XF has been touted as a genuine contender to BMW's M series crown as an sports executive car. The Jag is very comfortable and swooshes you along in comfort. Great for the Police when tooling along the motorway. However ,like any good British sports car, poke it with a stick, and the thing wakes up! Capable of hurling itself along with a brilliant turn of speed, and handling that has won plenty of praise, the XF has got the Police very interested. Also helps that the thing is very pretty! Imagine having that snarling Jag badge with flashing lights planted in your mirror...

Lotus Exige
OK, with a top speed of just shy of 150 mph, it is not going to set the world on fire. And whilst this is a genuine car, it is not used for pursuits. Just to patrol around and get people interested. Which is a shame. Given Lotus' famed acceleration and handling, there is no way a bad guy would be able to escape the thing!

Lexus IS
This is a Toyota. It is not exciting. However, being a Lexus, it is well screwed together, and has a brilliant engine. There is no getting away from the thing on the road, and you will crash from the boredom of being chased by a Lexus...

Mitsubishi Lancer
A lot of forces in Britain us Subaru's Impreza. And some of the older ones are being retired, and replaced. Some forces are opting for the rally-inspired Lancer, 4wd, and very useful when the chase heads on to the back roads of Britain.

Mitsubushi iMiev
Yes, Britain has an electric buggy as a Police car. Not for chases. Because lets face it, you could walk faster, and by the end of the street, its charge will be dying! However, it is being used for community patrols, and helps the Police's "green" credentials!

Land Rover Defender
One of the longest running off-road vehicles on the face of the planet. A simple car featuring a strong body, good chassis, and good engine. Its simplicity allows for heavy modifications to be made with a lot of ease. Its ruggedness has proven popular with Police forces round the world, and used as a rural patrol vehicle, as well as an armoured vehicle on the streets of Northern Ireland!

Range Rover
Lets face it. This is a cool car. The first luxury off-road car. Quick on a highway. Commanding drive position. Capable of driving anywhere while hauling enough stuff to single-handedly deal with a multi-car accident, and strong enough to shift many vehicles out of the way by itself!

John Deere
Yes, its true! There is a tractor running round the UK as a Police vehicle! Granted, its top speed of 25 mph neednt worry a criminal, but that will not stop the force using the vehicle for good!
